Burnished was set up in 2012 by Andrew Lane Fox, to offer moving image production, strategy and consultancy to clients in both the public and the private sectors, as well as direct to channels, media owners and creative agencies. Previously Andrew headed up the Moving Image team at the COI, the UK government’s communications agency, up until its closure in 2012.
Consisting of just two full time staff, the company operates a flexible, transparent, cost effective way of working. We use the creative partnerships and relationships forged over years in the industry to find flexible approaches to providing strategic moving image content designed with audiences and channels in mind.
We aim to keep overheads to a minimum and are transparent about how we spend our clients’ budgets. We eschew expensive premises, the buying of equipment or the employment of full time staff. This allows us to use our network of creative collaborators to build exactly the right team to create the ideal solution to each job, rather than try and make the square pegs of our clients’ briefs fit the round hole of a rigid approach or business model.
This in turn allows us to navigate fluidly around a rapidly changing industry and an ever-evolving communications landscape. Since the company was formed this has seen us create on-air promos for Discovery Networks, develop broadcast and AFP projects for the BBC, create radio ads for both the UK and Spanish governments, produce digital content for a range of blue-chip clients, undertake consultancy for the Metropolitan Police and the National Police Improvement Agency, help set up a brand new online TV channel in the City of London and carve out a real niche in creating animation, as well as live action, for companies and brands throughout Europe.
